The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.

The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us. Whereas a person with self-awareness just hits the bottle and doesn’t look back.

We spend all of our time on autopilot, and when we finally try to stop it, all we do is get angry and blame ourselves. Our minds are so busy running on autopilot that we forget we are on autopilot. So when we have a conflict with someone, we tend to just blame ourselves and call it a “personal problem” instead of trying to solve a problem.

The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

It’s true that you’re not making a personal problem of a conflict with someone. But when there is a genuine conflict, how do you deal with it? That’s where our new ‘autopilot’ game comes into play. Your goal is to figure out what your conflict is with someone, and then you must figure out how to make it a non-personal issue.

The problem is that many of our relationships are not really about conflict. They are just a way for us to communicate. We talk about our problems and our goals and other things that we would also like to accomplish. I know this is a bit of an oversimplification, but the actual reason we talk is to give each other what we need. When we are not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

This is a difficult concept to wrap your mind around, but it is something we should all strive for. As long as we don’t act as if our relationships are something personal that we need to keep secret, then they will be. The fact that we always have to think about conflict when we’re with other people doesn’t mean we should.

The situation for endangered species is an obvious one. The very fact that we are not aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, makes us more vulnerable to environmental disaster. In fact, this is a common theme in the work we do here at Google. For example, we have a team dedicated to helping the environment. When we speak with someone who is impacted by an endangered endangered species, we are often asked to help them in their effort.
