This is a recipe that I first learned from the best gourmet cookbook to date, The Slow Cooking Kitchen by Shiva Keshavan, founder of the award-winning Slow Food restaurant in Berkeley, California. As a child, I would often visit her recipes and see how she incorporated vegetables into her meals, and how she incorporated meat into her meals. I was instantly obsessed with her cooking style, though I never got around to trying her recipes.
Yes she is a woman of many talents. As I mentioned, Shiva is the author of The Slow Cooking Kitchen.
Shiva has her own books (Cooking in India) but the best way to get to her recipes is to check out her food blog, The Slow Cooking Kitchen, where she shares her recipes from all over the world and the culture that inspired them.
Shiva is also a chef and foodie blogger (among other things). In addition to her food blogs, she is a self-described food junkie. She’s been in love with food since she was a kid and has been cooking since she was twelve. In fact, if you want to find out what she is doing with her life outside of her food blogging, you can check out her Facebook page.
It seems like the more you dig through Shiva’s blog the more awesome you’ll find. She has a huge collection of recipes, including the best chicken tikka masala ever. She also has some great photography of food, so check out her blog.
