This is the second time in my life I have thought of a saying that can be used to describe someone. The first time was when I was a child, with a girl who was a huge fan of “Star Trek”. The girl’s name was Giselle. She had a great sense of humor, and she was always laughing.
The other time was when I was a young adult. I was with a girl from high school, and we had a long conversation about what I thought of her. I said that I thought she was a good person, but that I had no idea what she thought, and I was pretty sure that she didn’t agree with me. I was right. I don’t think I ever told her the other thing I said about her, and I don’t think she ever understood it.
I guess that I can’t really blame her, but she was a freshman in college at the time. She wasn’t getting any girl stuff from her boyfriend, and I found myself thinking that if she’d just stop being a little bitch about everything, she’d get what she wanted.
The quote is a very popular one. It’s not always in the same place, but it is commonly found near the top of the results page for “what do you think?” questions.
It does not mean, “she never got into trouble,” nor does it mean, “she always got what she wanted.” It simply means that she did the things that she wanted to do, but they weren’t the things that she got told she wanted to do.
